ok i just finished playdead’s ‘inside’ and i seen a lot of theories and here’s my thots:

the human blob was definitely controlling the boy the whole time tryna get him to set it free and i say this bc there’s no real ‘beginning’ and no obvious motivation for the boy to be doing what he’s doing + the game constantly shows him working w the husks. if he weren’t being controlled by the blob i think they’d have given some greater context to what’s going on

saw someone on ign talking abt that scene where one of the 'regular’ people is moving the cage full of husks and how there’s an adult and a child watching, which wld seem to imply/emphasize the idea that the entire in-game world is like this and children are raised believing it’s normal

insaneeeee capitalism commentary imo. there’s an obvious minority ruling class and an obvious majority enslaved class portrayed as mindless laborers

definitely think there’s also a lot of meta commentary kind of in the same vein as metal gear solid 2 honestly where the game is trying to make u aware ur playing a game and that ur getting sucked into it and forgetting abt reality while u play it

the above is heavilyt emphasized by the secret ending where u can have the boy literally turn the game off halfway through, which means obviously that youve chosen to become self aware and not finish the game

no idea whatsoever abt the mermaid/whatever it was. don’t know why it gave u the ability to breathe underwater after having tried to kill u before. as im typing this im realizing icr if that specific mermaid tried to kill u before actually but im pretty sure it did HOWEVER if not, cld be implying that specific creature broke free of its mind control/became self aware/was being controlled by the blob unlike the others

yk hearing the dialogue for blue period rlly does take it up a level even if the pacing nd atmosphere isnt as good as the manga. at the hatsumode scene and thats like. even more lgbt spoken out loud like. ok.. also i rlly understand the feeling tsubasa was going for in the dialogue. ofc the translation isnt bad and i could read the raws but i didnt bc itd be hard to immerse since im bad at reading kanji but. yea. yea that was. ok

about the phem thing, i think its really a twitter problem. a majority of the people on the shows enjoyed their set and there's nothing but good comments about them on other social media like facebook for example. of course theres twitter people sulking on barricade and claiming phem attacked them by looking at them the wrong way or something but overall last tour seemed pretty ok even with twitter's campaign against them

honestly i thought phems set was rly cringe (when i saw them in nov) bc they were clearly lip syncing the whole time LMAO and honestly the way they got down from the stage to aggressively get in some kids face at barrier for not dancing was like. psychopath behavior lol. thats rly not something you do??? EVER but esp as an opener?????
